Project LINGGk is a project handled and organized by a group of Linguistics majors from the Department of Linguistics from University of the Philippines Diliman. In the creation of this project, the students gathered data and conducted documentation studies on selected Philippine languages; with the objective of using these for the education of people regarding these languages and ultimately, the linguistic situation of the Philippines. As future studies on the Philippine languages will be undertaken, the website will be updated for more available languages.

The purpose of this project is to spread linguistic awareness not only to linguists but also to the general public. Project LINGGk also envisions to become a reliable source of information for students, teachers, and researchers. In the ease of a click, you get access to maps showing where the documented languages are spoken, as well as descriptions and information about these. Each language profile also  includes word lists, sample folklore, and a translation of a story entitled “The North Wind and The Sun”.

Through the presentation of  information surrounding these languages, Project LINGGk hopes to bridge cultural gaps; showing not only the distinctions between these different languages but highlighting their similarities, and in turn, the similarities and connections of the people.

Bridging Gaps. Linking Languages. Connecting People.
